Fuelbreak Map - 2004 |
| The CRCD serves as the coordinating
lead-group in an unprecedented partnership between public agencies/private
associations and landowners in the vegetation modification for fire
protection of the communities and increase water yields.
There has been approximately 72 miles of fuelbreaks constructed to date, with more expected this year under Forest Stewardship, Watershed Restoration grants and the seven USDA EQIP programs. There are a total of six Vegetation Management Program burns to be conducted this fall for improved water production and hazard reduction. These total in excess of 4,000 acres. These activities have been coordinated with actions on public, tribal, and private lands. |
