Forest Incentive Program (FIP)

10yr forest

These pictures show work under the Forest Incentive Program (FIP) on the Massetti property as part of the fuel modification activities to enhance the fuel break program.  The CRCD started working with this landowner in 1987 in the Oakhurst area.  The large trees to the left were planted in 1991 as part of the fuel break program.

The fuel break program in this area now stretches 72 miles and covers 13,342 acres of fuel modification, plantations and watershed enhancement.  Cooperators are the CDF, FSA, NRCS, CRCD, and private landowners.  We have increased the water yields to the beneficial downstream uses by over 6,000 acre feet of water.
