A member of the family Ranunculaceae, the Coville columbine is found at timberline and windy mountain passes at elevations between 9000' and 12000'. It grows 6" to 18" tall and has large flowers; petals are white with tints of blue, pink, or yellow. The pinnate leaves have 3 or 9 leaflets. Flowering period, June to August.
