Ranch, Goat Mountain, Road 620 Shaded Fuel Break Due
Date June 29, 2006 The Eastern Madera County Fire Safe Council (FSC) and
Coarsegold Resource Conservation District (CRCD) are seeking public
comment on construction of 21 miles, 651 acres, of ‘Shaded Fuel Break to
protect watershed values, homes and lives’. There are 3 approved
projects. The first ties to the Crooks Mt. 12 mile fuel break project in
progress from Miami Mt. to Deadwood Mt., thence down to Hwy 41/Road 425C
and thence along Road 420 to Mudge Ranch (Mudge Ranch Project). The second
is from Teaford Saddle up over Goat Mt thence around Bass Lake Annex to
Hwy 274 (Goat Mt. Project). The third is on Road 620 from Miami Cr to
Junction of Road 628 and Road 620 (Road 620 Project). The public was notified at public meetings of these State and Federal assistance programs on March 30, and April 27 at which time public support was received. All public comments shall be included with the California Environmental Quality Act of 1979 (CEQA) documents in progress.
